This scholarship fund was established in the memory of Rahway Police Office Charles Bernoskie. Officer Bernoskie was slain over 42 years ago when he interrupted a crime in progress at Miller Pontiac and Cadillac on St. Georges Avenue, Rahway. His assailants, Theodore Schiffer and Robert Zarinsky, were apprehended and arrested in 1999.
This endeavor has been strongly supported by the Rahway community and without the support of some many generous and caring people this scholarship would not be possible.
Anyone wishing to contribute to this scholarship fund can do so by mailing a donation to: Sergeant Robert Conroy, c/o Rahway Police Department, 1 City Hall Plaza, Rahway, NJ 07065. Checks should be made out to: Police Officer Charles Bernoskie Scholarship Fund.
