RAHWAY—RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) of Community Access will offer free tax assistance for Union County residents earning less than $34,000.
Tax preparation will begin the first week of February. All volunteers assisting with the tax preparation have been trained in tax law and tax return completion by the IRS and are capable of assisting persons in completing forms 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ. Volunteers have also been instructed in the correct procedures regarding pensions, interest, itemized deductions, credits for the elderly and earn income credits and New Jersey State forms.
Tax preparation site: Rahway Senior Center, 1306 Esterbrook Avenue, Rahway. Appointments are required for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (beginning Monday, Feb. 3). Call (732) 827-2016 for appointments.
